What is Diversion?

Diversion is a program created by many courts to give first time offenders a chance to keep a criminal conviction off of their record.  Typically if you have never been convicted of a crime you will be eligible.

How Does Diversion work?

Although it varies by each court and jurisdiction, typically a person is required to do community service, pay court costs and program fees and stay out of trouble for a period of time.

Most misdemeanors and some felonies are eligible for the diversion program.

After completion of the program, the charge is dismissed and your record is sealed or expunged.
